The historic Mulligan and Forster gold workings are located in the north of EL 8100 (Blicks Extended) and at the south end of the Dalmorton Goldfield. Recorded gold production from Dalmorton Goldfield is 486.5kg (17,000 ounces).
Mining at Mulligan and Forster concentrated on flat lying quartz veins. Reconnaissance rock chip sampling by Anchor returned strongly anomalous gold values in vein quartz at the Mulligan workings with a peak value of 59.9g/t Au (Figure 5).
A conceptual orogenic exploration model is proposed for gold mineralisation in the Mulligan-Forster area. The target is a system of stacked closely spaced and interconnected flat lying quartz veins.
