Birdwood EL 6459 (Anchor 100%)

The Birdwood project is located in the southeastern portion of the New England Orogen in northeast New South Wales, centred 50 km west of Port Macquarie. It includes the Birdwood North copper-molybdenum prospect and seven other base metal mineral occurrences (Fig 1). The base metal prospects all occur within a 2.5 km radius of the Mid-Late Triassic Hillview Granite and are described as fracture-controlled vein-style and skarn deposits

The Birdwood area is prospective for concealed pipe-like porphyry copper deposits of the Ridgeway and Northparkes types. Based on historical drilling and exploration Anchor has identified the Birdwood North target as a concealed pipe-like porphyry copper deposit suggested to be at a depth greater than 300 metres.
